Corsair Voyager Air 500GB USB 3.0 Portable Wireless Hard Drive - Red

Corsair Voyager Air 500GB USB 3.0 Portable Wireless Hard Drive - Red

Fantastic wireless drive for my media
I got my Voyager Air about a week ago and have used it non-stop, I originally chose this one over others on the market because it offered the LAN port and NAS feature and had an excellent advertised battery life, all of which have proven to be excellent, seeing a minimum of 8 hours battery life.
I currently have mine connected to my router via Ethernet so I can access the files from it on any PC or streaming device in my house (I use the boxee box in 3 rooms) but can also connect wirelessly to it from my ipad and the wife’s nexus 7, all at the same time.
It comes with a UK power adaptor so means it’s constantly charged ready for when I take it away and use it on the go.
I like the design of the Voyager Air, it has a unique look and seems to be pretty robust, setting up was super easy, I powered it up with the switch, powered on the Wi-Fi with the other switch, waited 60 seconds and there it was, showing as a wireless network from my ipad, I connected to it,...

Corsair Voyager Air 500GB USB 3.0 Portable Wireless Hard Drive - Red

Voyager Air 1TB
I bought the Voyager Air because I was looking for a portable hard drive with plenty of space. The fact this device could create its own personal wireless hotspot meant that I could also stream my media without having to connect it to a USB capable device. This sold it to me as it meant I could simply stream to any device while I was away from home.

The design is excellent, its lightweight and feels well built. The switches are easy to use and the lights on the front indicate battery, power and WiFi.

I was able to successfully connect and stream to my windows phone and android tablet at the same time without any issues after a quick and FREE installation of the Voyager Air App. I watched 3 hours of movies, streamed over WiFi and the battery indicator only just turned orange which means it had used only 20% so It still had 80% battery so it easily exceeds the stated 8 hour battery life for streaming, also you can plug in the power supply while it is streaming via...

Corsair Voyager Air 500GB USB 3.0 Portable Wireless Hard Drive - Red

Very happy with this product!
First impressions was it was smaller than I expected which is great. It is really easy to carry and is extremely discrete.

I was most impressed with the transferring speeds, most impressive, both with putting data on and taking data off.

I have used external hard drives in the past to store media (such as pictures and movies) and documents, the big problem was I shared it with my partner, and so when ever I wanted to use something on it I always had to try and find the hard drive amongst her mess. It would also often not be with the connection cable which meant more looking... - Obviously quite annoying.

This product has nicely solved that problem, which makes my life so much easier. I can access everything on the hard drive anywhere in the house!

I hadn't planned on really using the battery on it really, but I often travel by train on the weekends for a couple of hours and so usually do work/ watch a film on my tablet. The problem was that...
