Great Hard Drive
I don't usually leave reviews but thought that Hard Drives are becoming a big deal these days and it's important to get it right especially if you a buying 2tb of storage.

I currently own 9 External Hard Drives so I have a bit of experience hear when I write this.

Ok hear we go.

First of all I have owned Buffalo, Imogen, Seagate, and a few Toshiba Drives in my time and it appears that I have been lucky so far as only one of these has failed on me (Seagate).
The reason why I have opted for this Hard Drive is simple, First and foremost it has a power switch on the back which is important to me. As this is a storage device I only want it turned on when I need it. Most of the current popular 2TB drives don't have this function anymore which is a shame.

Secondly, I have purchased a number of Toshiba Drive's over the last couple of years (the aluminium casing ones) and they have been great. They are very quiet and at best get slightly warm...

Comes with unwanted "toshiba market place"
Look at other similar products before buying this HDD since it comes with unwanted crapware "toshiba market place".

I had a previous 1.5TB version which I used to backup with TimeMachine. That hard disk worked fine, until it suddenly stopped working. I was unable to mount it on Windows, Linux or Mac. Sometimes you can just have bad luck, so I did not blame Toshiba. At the end, I quite liked the 1.5TB version. Silent and fast.

So, the Toshiba StoreE Alu2 3.5" 2TB (silver) "seemed" a good option, and I bought one.

First of all, for those that do not have a USB 3 port on their computer, make sure you use a USB 2 cable instead of the one that comes with the HDD. Otherwise the device will not mount. Sounds obvious, but if you forget then the drive will not mount.

Big surprise with this HDD is that it comes with a pre-configured Virtual CD device, the Toshiba Market place. Completely useless marketing stuff from Toshiba. I really don't understand...

A good drive from a good manufacturer, ticks all the boxes
I've now got a Toshiba laptop through work and I am really happy with the design and feel of it, so when it came to expanding my storage at home I instantly though of Toshiba.

Upon receipt of the drive I found it well packaged and the box contained
