Sandisk MicroMate Reader SDDR-113
Fast, Fast, Fast!
Great product - bought this to go with SanDisk Extreme Pro SDHC UHS-I Memory Card (8GB,45Mbps) which I use in my Nikon D5100 DSLR. Copied 850MB of pictures from SDHC card to Windows 7 PC in under a minute (using USB 2.0).
Niiiiice!

Simply works
I recently bought a mighty 32 gigabyte SDHC card to put in my Nintendo 3DS so I could pretty much never worry about memory card space for the rest of the consoles life only to find out my laptop was incompatible with SDHC and it's the only computer I own. Bought the micromate to get around that and it simply works. Stuck the SDHC card in the bottom, stuck the micromate into a USB port and copied all my files from the game consoles old 2gb SD card and then added a few gigs of music on top with no trouble or installing.
The micromate has a nice glossy kind of plastic, that odd white dot has a green light behind it which blinks to indicate reading/writing in progress and although the key/neck chain loop is on the clear USB cover that thing is tough to pull off so little chance of losing it if you take it out and about with you. Only potential problem I see with the micromate is the wide shape might not fit into some some indented USB slots (like my frontside Xbox 360 USB ports...

Nice design
My objective was a good speed on both PC/Mac, good hardware design and support of booting from a SD card, because I support many computer systems and need many USB Read-Only (with write protection) devices for installing software or doing some maintenance like disk recovery of anti virus scanning.
This was the most stylish of 4x USB readers I've bought
Negatives:
= a bit too wide, so an adapetr would be required for vertical USB slots on thin laptops
= too short body - card is only half inside the adapter
= reflective plastic - attract fingerprints
Positives:
= bootable / ok for booting from an SD/SDHC card
= Good speed on both PC USB3 and Mac USB2
= nice design
= not disruptive LED
= dual use cup - protecting card or USB connector
= very flat/thin
This adapter is made from a high grade plastic - even nice to touch
A cheaper and faster reader I've bought -...
